Having completed a significant architectural office project for him, our client followed up with a special request: creating built-in bookcases that would showcase a precious restored painting, while accommodating various storage and display requests in a character home.
The plan to connect the entryway walnut millwork through the doorway to the main area, and on to the kitchen doorway created a significant challenge. The solution was to offer multiple depths of bookcases.
Doorways were left unobstructed, while the built-ins gained a subtle design flair. The residents were delighted with the major transformation.
The millwork protected and showcased the family portrait while maintaining the home's unique charms, and adding elegant multifunctional improvements.
