Working closely with Taizo Yamamoto, we designed and built his firm’s new offices. With a focus on clean line simplicity and a stark black and white palette, we were tasked with providing a functional and, at the same time, beautiful space
We chose matte laminates for most of the surfaces because of their durability in daily use and constructed the entirety of the project in European birch plywood, again chosen for it’s strength and durability. With glass covering the walls and partitioning the room and a glossy white rock-hard epoxy coating on the floor, the matte office furniture stood out even more.
Designing a space that encourages collaboration and conversation is fundamental for office design. We created magnetized glass walls throughout the workspace for a better work flow.
We provided the reception, all the desks, the entryway millwork, the kitchen, the window treatments, and the conference room millwork. We also oversaw the renovation and construction of the space, managing all of the various trades involved.
